Praise for "All Through The Night":

"A significant serious and intensely moving new work by a proven Broadway playwright...a show that's both ruminative and revelatory, smart and emotive, immersive and distancing. And most impressive of all, this is a play with enough daring to look at the polarities of war with a strong sense of the complexity of human limitations... it's a very smart and yet strikingly sympathetic probing of an age-old socio-political questions. When totalitarian and/or authoritarian regimes--rise to power, why do most ordinary people do nothing to stop them? ...lauro is a skilled structuralist...a compelling new play."

- Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune

by Shirley Lauro

Dates: Wednesday, May 4, 2011 through Sunday, May 22, 2011

From CityShow's Rogues Amidst the Fatherland production - behold an epic story of human struggle, courage, and survival that transcends man's inhumanity to man.

Length: 2 hrs and 10 mins

In Shirley Lauro's All Through the Night, we follow the story of a number of German gentile women during the Third Reich of Nazi Germany - from their teen years through adulthood. Based and inspired on actual interviews, this surrealistic play describes the journey of each woman throughout Hitler's reign, and how their personal choices affect life outcomes.

*This play is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

BAAL by Bertolt Brecht

Dates: Friday, May 6, 2011 through Sunday, May 22, 2011

From CityShow's Rogues Amidst the Fatherland production: Bertolt Brecht's play explores what happens to man when he succumbs to the inner demon of indulgence - leaving a devastating wake of destruction from his debaucherous actions.

Length: 2 hrs

Baal, a voracious drunkard and seducer, roams the countryside as a poet & musician, fully rejecting the conventions and trappings of society. We, the captivated spectators, witness this anti-hero womanize and brawl his way through life and devolve into a true libertine. We may sit in judgment of Baal, but find it difficult to avoid being seduced and drawn in by his poetic spell - at least for a moment - at least once.
